One club is willing to pay Liverpool €100 million for Luis Diaz.
The Colombian winger’s future has been one of the major talking points this summer, and there appears to be no shortage of updates on him recently.
Liverpool are keen on retaining his services and have opened contract talks with him.
However, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have kept their charm offensive on the winger.
The Bavarians, in particular, have submitted two bids recently for Diaz, and are preparing a third, having seen the first two rejected by Liverpool.
The Reds maintain that Diaz is part of their plans for next season and are not looking to sell.
However, their insistence on keeping the 28-year-old has not deterred Bayern or Barcelona, who also had a bid rejected earlier this summer.
On Wednesday, Fabrizio Romano revealed the latest on Diaz amid the interest from the two European giants, maintaining that despite Liverpool’s stance, both Bayern and Barcelona have maintained contact with the player’s agents.
“Bayern are speaking to the agents of Luis Diaz,” the journalist revealed.
“Barcelona has also been speaking to the player’s agents in recent weeks, and they will speak again in the next days.
“So, Barcelona remain in conversation with Luis Diaz because he is a player the club loves.
But of course, they need to understand financially what happens because Liverpool keeps closing doors.
While Liverpool are battling to ward off interest from Bayern and Barcelona, Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr have decided they are open to paying Liverpool over £86 million for Diaz.
This is according to Spanish outlet Sport, which asserts that Al Nassr are willing to meet Liverpool’s valuation of the Colombian, which is €100 million.
According to the report, Cristiano Ronaldo’s club are looking to sign a high-profile left winger as part of its rebuild.
The report adds that Ronaldo has reportedly pushed Sporting Director Fernando Hierro to recruit top-tier talent, specifically targeting Liverpool’s Colombian international.
The Saudi Pro League club are then said to be the only club willing to match Liverpool’s valuation of Diaz.
“In fact, there is only one club that has made it known it is willing to pay the 100 million euros that Liverpool is asking for: Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr,” Sport wrote.
“From Saudi Arabia, they have been working for some time on convincing the Colombian international’s camp, trying to seduce him and invite him to leave Europe and join the long list of stars who have moved to the Saudi league in recent seasons.
The report then adds that while Al-Nassr are willing to pay the premium price to get Diaz, there is no certainty that the 28-year-old will love to move to the Middle East.
“The problem is that Al-Nassr has already tried unsuccessfully on several occasions,” the report added.
“Rumours have been constant in recent months, but the Colombian striker has always prioritised staying in European football?
In recent days, however, another unexpected twist could change the current storyline.”
